    Purchased this as a gift. Upon initial opening was pleasantly surprised at the quality of packing and packing materials. Everything arrived in perfect condition. While there will be a learning curve, the first attempt as pizza was a success. We look forward to many pizzas and experiments in the future.

    Popped it out of the box and assembled (easy peasy) did a trial run with a couple of people before a party. Learned a couple things about using enough wood in the beginning of the process and reloading before the wood burns out. Second night was perfection. Now we can have homemade pizza in Austin Tx, even in the heat of the summer. Had left over pizza the next night for dinner topped with a fresh poached egg. Heaven!! Will be using this often!!

    Just wanted to say “I love this product!!!” My friend and I each purchased a kit and used them for a work party event. We each made 13 pizzas a piece and the kit worked beautifully with only two wood refills a piece. Temp stayed hot, pizzas cooked super fast, and everyone was amazed that we had made these pizzas on a grill! Thanks!!

    Our KettlePizza arrived on Tuesday and we had all of our family over for pizza night on Thursday. It was a hit with everyone. It was easy to set up and after the stone got to temp we were cooking away! I was a little hesitant of the price (we got the Serious Eats kit) but after it was all over was worth every penny.     This is such an awesome product. We used it for the first time on Saturday and my husband made a video. Long story short, his boss is now buying one and others are talking about it, and they all want to come over for pizza. It is a quality product, worked as stated, fed a party of people and was fun!     Received in good condition. I ordered the hyper-super-deluxe-bada$$ model and the instructions for setup did not discuss the specific extras included in that set. Otherwise setup was simple.

    A nice “S” hook is provided for hanging the metal peel. I suggest not using it while cooking as it renders the peel too damn hot to hold without big gloves.

    I got the sucker wicked hot and cooked my first pizza at well over 900°F. My first one didn’t work out so well and the stone has black pizza goo on it now. After that burned off, subsequent pizzas were awesome. Perhaps the first pizza is like the first pancake…

    Reminder to “dome” your pizza so the toppings get as cooked as the bottom.

    Solid packaging and easy to assemble. I would suggest using 2 shorter bolts to secure the oven ring. The original bolts stick out a bit too far and may damage the grill cover. Hopefully I’ll fire this up over the holiday weekend.

    I am very pleased with my Kettle Pizza oven. I made 3 pies for my first try. I made 1 more than I really wanted because I was afraid that I might burn them. No problems though. All three came out great. The company is great to work with and delivery was quick. Quality is top notch.

    I ordered the Special Edition kit on a Tuesday and it was shipped the same day and arrived on Wednesday!

    After reading as much of the available documentation as I could (including the Cheater Chef blog) I made my first batch of pizzas – they came out great! I have a few tweaks to try to make them even better next time (more briquets, for one) but I am extremely satisfied.

    It is expensive, but I think that it is worth every penny.

    It’s really a great product. The only thing I wish was an easy way to access the back for new fuel. Currently I have to take off the top take off the heavy metal plates in order to add fuel. Is there anyway possible to make this easier? Outside of that an outstanding products and can’t wait to continue to use it. Even made pancakes on top of the metal plate after cook my pizzas.

    Very good product and excellent customer service. When my KettlePizza arrived I was disappointed to find that the pizza stone was broken. I emailed them right then and I got a reply about 2 hours later saying they would send me a new one. No questions asked and no jumping through hoops. 2 days later a new, and not broken, pizza stone arrived. I generally get cook times of about 4 minutes with a beautiful crust.

    Extremely fast delivery Goes together extremely easy just turn 6 wingnuts & u r ready to go Fireup the grill & go to prep the pizza dough… hint if you fail to read the part where you are suppose to let the dough sit for 24 hours like I did…cheat…follow the instructions wrap your dough tight in plastic wrap & towel put in 170 degree oven for 30 min while you get the kettle temp up to 500-700 make sure to use plenty of wood to get high temp. When ready put a dash corn meal on metal peel pick up your pizza and it slides right on top of the stone that is heated and ready to cook. Keep an eye because it doesn’t take long before you have the most delicious pizza ready to cut and share with all the vultures that have come around to see what you are doing on your deck. The 1st 1 gets cut into sm pieces so EVERYONE can share. Then separate dough, roll it, pat it, top it then put it in the grill for all to see. Can’t wait to repeat with the dough that has been sitting for 24 hrs.

    Once the wood fire is blazing in the back and the flames are crawling across the Baking Steel ceiling, this is a serious pizza oven. Temps rise above 700° and pies can be baked in 1-1/2 to 2 minutes. VERY good stuff!

    My only knock would be temp control. Once the fire dies down, the temps drop quickly. The thin gauge walls don’t help. Keeping the wood-fired flame going is the trick. Too little wood, VERY short cooking time. Too much & it seems to be starved for oxygen. Can’t get a flame going. Having fun figuring it out, though! Guess I’ll have to try again!! LOL!

    The price is a bit steep, but any Kit short of this one can only lead to disappointment by comparison, IMO. The Tombstone pizza stone/Baking Steel combo seem to be the trick to cooking the dough AND toppings simultaneously.

    If not interested in making/buying a real pizza oven, this has proven to be a realistic solution to GREAT tasting wood-fired pizza.

    If you’re a celiac, you have not had real pizza since you were diagnosed. With this kit, you can have it. Use the pizza crust recipe from the book “How Can This Be Gluten Free” by the people at America’s Test Kitchen. (Don;t use plastic wrap to flatten the dough. Wet your hands with water and press it into place.) Once you have the crust parbaked, according to the recipe in the book, put whatever toppings you want on it. Then, use the cooking method from the serious eats.com website. Not the Baking Steel method in an oven (that works, but not like the Kettlepizza.) Use the method for the Kettlepizza with the Baking Steel. And you’ll have real pizza, celiac-style.

    After having a great conversation with your receptionist about whether your kit would harm the table of my Weber Performer – and she assured me it wouldn’t – I purchased the Serious Eats SE Kit. It arrived in 2 days to my door and was packaged extremely well.

    15 minutes later, I had everything assembled and only had to wait until Saturday afternoon to put it through its initial paces.

    With homemade dough ready to go, I made 3 pizzas in rapid fire succession. The first was a bit underdone as I was afraid to burn it, the 2nd received some burnt edges (didn’t spin it soon enough) and the 3rd was terrific.

    I’m looking forward to pizza parties at the house. This is one of the best additions I’ve made to my entertaining repertoire in years. Great product with only a small learning curve for very respectable results.

    Amazing product that allows me to make the best pizza I’ve ever made. I had stopped making pizzas because I could get better ones elsewhere. Then, I bought the Baking Steel. It was great but I knew something was missing. Figuring that someone else had already connected the dots, I looked on the web for the missing something. Your product. I completely messed up my first attempt but learned from my mistakes and from the second batch on have been making great pizzas. Forget the national chains, I’m actually making better pizzas than even the “good” places in my area.

    Customer service was excellent. I made some mistake with my online order so I called. The representative was polite, cheerful and quick in fixing my mistake.

    Customer service was great. V happy with service. Had it delivered to my work address so bit of a struggle to get it home but not your fault.

    I thought the instructions were very clear for assembly. I wasn’t sure which way round to put the baking steel. With slots at side, I then struggled a bit to refuel with wood other than through the front mouth which could make the pizza stone dirty. I didn’t think it was a good idea to lift up the steel.

    Might be useful is to add a guide on how to get temp up high. I didn’t know whether it was best to put wood at the bottom (with the charcoal) or in the basket or perhaps both. Also it would be useful to get an idea of the best wood to use.

    I think it is a great invention by the way. I spent 2 weeks in Naples (in Italy) training to be a pizzaiolo. Best thing I have found to replicate a wood fired oven.

    I couldn’t be happier with this kit. At its hottest, this oven churns out pizzas within two minutes. Truly a WFO alternative when it comes to pizza. Well done, Kettlepizza, Baking Steel, and Serious Eats!

    After using the oven once, I bought longer tongs to load the wood basket, and I’ll be ordering a round peel to rotate the pizzas (and bread and roasts and all sorts of goodness) more easily.

    I love buying items from aspiring entrapenours and MADE IN AMERICA, unfortunately so many products carry that name, and are inferior to China! However, not the case with KETTLE PIZZA! Everything is sized perfectly, made with high quality materials and was thoroughly pleased. The upper lid is HEAVY METAL and will be the greatest “quick” outdoor oven you can possibly have… LOVE IT!
